Biomechanics Certification

What To Expect
The best way to describe the new class is by calling it "an online encyclopedia of biomechanics information". It will cover running, walking, throwing, lifting, etc. (The online information will be constantly updated as video and information is collected.) You will go through the information at your own pace and you will have a maximum of 6 months access to the course. After you have completed the course, you will have the option of becoming certified at an Ironman or another ART sponsored sporting event (TBA via e-mail newsletter).

Re certification
There is NO re certification process with Biomechanics. As long as you are maintaining upper, spine, and lower you will be considered Biomechanics Certified. (Reminder: Once you have all three modules, you are required to take at least one re certification course each year to maintain your certification.) If you are wanting to get any new information coming out in the biomechanics course after your 6 months are up, we will have a way for you to get that information.

Qualifications and Pricing
In order to take the course you must be full body certified and it must be at least 1 year from your first certification. You do need high speed internet for the class. The cost for the class is $1100. This price includes 6 months access to the information as well as the test at an ART sponsored event to become certified.

Test and Certification
To take the certification exam, you will first need to notify ART prior to the event to arrange a time slot. It will take 20-30 minutes and you will test with Dr Leahy or one of the ART Instructors. You will be expected to watch the patient perform their sport, point out the problems, and then fix or at least improve the condition. Once you have taken the certification exam and passed you will be re certified in upper, lower, and spine for one year, as well.
